PROVENCIAL COTTAGE PIE

(Serves 4 People)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Provencial sachet
  • 500g beef minced
  • 2 reds onions
  • 4 large carrots
  • 200ml of gravy
  • 1kg of potatoes
  • 1 leek
  • grated cheese
  • 100ml of milk
  • 25g of butter
METHOD

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes, then boil until soft.

  2. Finely dice 1 large onion.

  3. In pan mix onion with 1 Provencial sachet, then heat pan and gently fry on medium heat.

  4. Add mince and gently fry until browned.

  5. Slice carrots and add to mince.

  6. Add 200ml of gravy and simmer for 5 minutes.

  7. Place mixture in oven proof dish.

  8. Once potatoes are cooked through, drain and mash, adding leek, cheese, butter and milk.

  9. Place on top of the mince mixture, and use back of fork to make lined pattern

  10. Cook in the oven at 180’c for 25 -30 minutes until browned on top.

  11. Serve with seasonal vegetables of your choice.

PROFESSIONAL TIPS

  • Add a dash of red wine to the gravy.
  • Add a tsp of Dijon and wholegrain mustard to the mash potato.
